Okay...Taking the list below, which type of games do you rank higher when looking for a new game? Do you prefer stealth over hack'n'slash? Or sports over roleplaying? Rank your top 5 and provide one or two sentences why you'd pick one over the other.
The list:
Action Adventure Driving Fighting First Person Shooter Hack'n'slash MMORPG Roleplaying Simulation Sports Stealth Strategy
My top 5:
1.) Roleplaying: Since I enjoy being placed into another's story. Kinda like reading a book but interacting with it. Totally up my alley.
2.) Hack'n'slash: Because I like cutting down paths. And it doesn't require too much skill. A welcome distraction.
3.) Fighting: Just the beat 'em up kinda style. I tend to be good at them, and I love combos. ^^
4.) FTP: Also a genre I tend to be good at...Not entirely stealth though.
5.) Strategy: Because I enjoy working and stimulating my mind.

1.) Roleplaying - There's no real reason... I don't think. It's just that I've always loved RPGs. *shrugs* 2.) Action - I love having an action game that can keep me on the edge of my seat and glued to the tv. 3.) Fighting - I've always been a fan of fighting games but unfortunately, I'm not one of the people who can play and get better. I play and get worse. 4.) Hack 'n' Slash - I ranked this one so low simply because after a while, hack 'n' slash can get boring. I still love them and they've had some good titles come out for that genre, it's just that they get old. 5.) Stealth - I'm not very good at these games but I do like finding out what happens if I bust around the corner guns ablazing instead of silently like a ninja. O.o

it's hard, coz i usually rate a game on the actual game, not it's genre but generally i go for:
1 - RPG 2 - FPS 3 - Beat 'em up (like street fighter) 4 - Stealth 5 - Racing

1. fps - mainly games with a fuckload of guns but all sensible and modern not futuristic, games such as global ops (team based fps) it lets me vent my frustration, makes me laugh by killing people in ingenious ways, lets me use my brain in the way i feel it was meant for - combat and military stratagy (cannabis stops me from joining the army) 2. extreme sports - bmxing, skeetboarding and all that jazz games like toneh hawk, dave mirra bmx (not mat hoffman because the control set up is bollox, even though i have completed it) jet set radio blah blah bla - i used to do alot of extreme sports when i was younger but have gradually given up due to the lack of faciltys near me. (am taking up moto x soon) 3. rts- i remeber the day i bought c+c like it was yesturday, playing my first battle and all suchlike, i loved it. once again another use for the brain (which i must have gained from some old warrior/military commander) and gives me the chance to plan plot and defeat such bastards as the russians and chinese and im im really bored i like to kill the americans to, english snipers = the win (RA2) 4 racing - ive always had a passion for cars, motorbikes hell anything with a fuck off engine whether it purr like a tiger or growl like a fucking grizzly bear, my passion for engines is up there with my passion for women and weapons. am a big fan of GT and if anyone thinks its shit or that they are shit hot at it should come over and ill beat you either way 5. rpg - first game i ever had on my playstion was ff7 (probebly not the only one) and i fell in love straight away. since then ive never been able to play another rpg (except for ff8 which was relativly good but couldnt beat 7) without turning it off after a few mins because it was crap.

1.RPG - Well, it's just great. Lots of freedom, and it's just my style. Like AnG said, like reading a book, but then interactive...and I love reading books. 2.MMORPG - Nothing like RPG, except playing it with lots of otehr people over the net. Not as high ranked as RPG, because RPGs tend to have better storylines, more diversity and you don't have to pay monthly fees for them. 3.Stealth/FPS - I like themn both, even better when combined. FPS just for the sake of shooting people, and stealth because s good stealth game is difficult, and I like it difficult. 4. Hack'n'slash - Just some mindless fun ^^. Mostly has some good graphics and some good magic, so I love it. It's like RPG without the story . 5. Strategy/Fighting - Strategy is very nice. Gets me to show others that I really am smarter (joking ), and those games can last for a while. Fighting is fun for when you're having friends over. Just have some fun, and it takes a while before it gets dull (and then you can just pop it on the next day without being bored by it ^^).
