I didn't know this. A article I have been reading says it's a Kabbalistic concept. This female side of God is called Shekhinah. I would like to find out more about this. To know for sure that God is genderless.
Maybe I am late with things. Please forgive me, if I offended anyone. PLease let me know your thoughts on this, and if you have any information, dislikes/disagreement, or whatever else please reply.
I should just look it up my self... I know. But yeah...

In my eyes, I can't make the decision on whether God is genderless or not. The only thing that would make me believe He is more male than anything is the state that God made man in his own image... But what makes me frustrated is... why does anyone care if God is genderless or not? Does it make Him any less of a higher being? Human nature is so screwy because it seems like people would rather spend their lives trying to figure out God instead of just shutting up and following what He says. Will men be turned off God had a female side? God has the ability to give life, and He has given that ability to women. But does that make Him feminine? Think about it, does it really matter?

Personally I think my god is a man and that's right, my god. Different people have different views, it's neat to learn other peoples point of views

I believe IF there is a god, it`s either genderless, or both genders at the same time (Male AND female, not a hermaphrodite). My explaination can be explained by 1. man creating god in his own image, man being mankind rather than the man of patriachal days of yore and 2. God created man and woman who each inhabit the earth 50% (or so) each. Male and Female deities are interesting though. Read about Hermapolis (I`m only just seeing the linguistic connection between Hermaphrodite and Hermapolis. Interesting).

Personally, I don't belive in God. in any God. I belive that when you die, you die and that's it, no after life, no rainbows and butterflies, it's just "the end" The end of everything, I don't think you feel anything, you just stop existing.

[glow=blue,4,300]I do believe in God, but I have a different view of the religion aspect. I don't believe in organized religion. I believe in educating yourself about what your religion is. I think organized religion is a way to breed ignorance in the sense that so many religions claim to be the only way. Not only that, but they discourage learning about other religions and claim you a blasphemer if you dare mention interesting facts about another religion. That irritates me. And it's sad that a belief that is supposed to be teaching tolerance, patience and righteousness has been twisted into teaching intolerance, impatience for those different from you and SELF-righteousness. Never, EVER get me started on religion. I could write a book.[/glow]

I would definitely help u write the book too. And... my mom believes that there is no one god. God is both male and female energy in everything. I thought that it was interesting. So.. hence me believing in something from everything. My mom is wiccan.. but also has alot of views from other religions too. Plus.. i have native american indian in me. It doesn't look like it though. On another note.. i think that God.. is both energies.. can't be defined as either.. and someone a couple posts up said that God made man.. like mankind! That.. was a nice comment. I think it works! lol.. Just.. my lil elf flavor added in there. ~Mori'Quessir~

[glow=blue,4,300]Well I think the male and female energy thing makes sense. He created man in His image (maybe henceforth the anatomy of the male body?) and he is (in my belief) the Creator of all things (that gift of creation given to women). *gasp* But if God made Man in His own image... and made Women from Man... *gasp!* Is God hermaphroditic? j/k Okay, perhaps that was a little blasphemous there. That created man in his image... I always thought that line was... well... crappy. Wrong. Not agreeable. Whatever, just don`t kill me. It makes it seem like women are an after thought, or an add on. Would you say that it`s more likely that god created everything in his image? Hmmm, I don`t think I really have a reason for suggesting that (I had one, but I forgot it already). Man is nothing like god anyway. God can`t be shaped like a man, cause men suck and can`t create a planet or a tiny planet with tiny humans. ;D He he he

According to the Text, after God made Adam, He realized Adam was very lonely and decided to make him a companion. Hold on, let me get the verses... Okay, I'm not going to type out the whole thing, but here it is: Genesis 2:20 - 22: So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. but for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. (21) And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in it's place. Then the rib which the Lord God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. (23) And Adam said: "This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man." The Holy Bible - New King James Version I definitely wouldn't say that God created *everything* in His image. I would say that God wanted to create a "Heaven" here but because of Man's nature and the Devil's gentle shove (which is probably an oxymoron) Man fell from "Heaven" (if you want me to go into more detail, just say so. I can go on with this one, but I'll spare those who don't want to see it.) Man could never be anything like God. From my perspective, Man could never imagine knowing what God knows. We do not have the mental capacity to understand all. He made us in his image but he did not make us with the ability to create things like he's created (i.e. trees, diatoms, snowflakes). We have the ability to create life, but in the end, he controls that too. So in reality, Man is nothing like God because we do not have the power he has. We have dominion over this planet, but He still controls every aspect of what we do. If I went over anyone's head, just tell me. I'll explain. I'm not trying to put anyone down or prove them wrong. If it's one thing I do have extensive knowledge in it's my religion (and that wasn't me bragging.)[/glow]
