I honestly dont know that much about buddhism, though I understand the basics very well. I have read books about it, have seen movies about it and have done the occasional look up in a library or on the itnernet (not taking every information as necessarily beign right, of course).
Buddhism is a religion that is truely fascinating for me. In the future, I hope to have learned much more about it and become a buddhist.
the most beautiful things about it, for me, are: It is a religion of almost total freedom. There is very little you must doe this or you musn't do that. In my view, a religion that severely restricts your freedom in a way of thinking, acting and being is not a proper religion. (that's just my view, no offence to those of such religions, for I respect those religions) Buddhism is about freedom, about letting yourself reach a level of consciousness where freedom is key. It's about exploring that which must be explored, firstly yourself, and your conscience, and how you are connected to the world. I love the entire concept, and although becoming a monk in a monastery is not for me, I must say it has really drawn my gaze from the minute i laid eyes on it.
