Yep, if you're a fan of Suikoden, then you probably know that the forth game in the popular series is coming out soon (January 11th, according to RPGamer.com). This is one that is to be equipped with voice acting, naval battles and the works.
So, are you a fan and awating this event?
I know I am...I'm curious about the voice acting and the story more than anything. Battle-wise, I hope the naval battles aren't anything like Commencement battles in III, because those were hard to do sometimes.
Thoughts? Opinions?

I actually have the game and got ST into it and I simply love it! I've gone back and beat it probably three times. I can't wait for IV to come out... except... Geddoe won't be in it... Yes, I have become quite attached to the one-eyed wonder (my bf keeps saying it would be funny to run up on his blind side to hit him).
As for that quick runthrough... let's see if I can explain this. Okay, the story is seen through the eyes of 3 main people (even though there's six in all).
One, is Lady Chris, the only female knights, and captain of the Zexen Army. She is ordered to meet with the Grasslanders (tribal-like people) to come up with a truce to end a war that had been raging for sometime. After the truce is agreed upon, out of the clear blue, the Grasslanders ambush them and she and her knights are forced to take military action....
Second, is Hugo, the son of a Grassland Chief. He is asked to take a letter to the Council of Zexen. While he waits there to be seen, the knights try to apprehend him and barely manages to escape. When he returns home, he finds it engulfed in flames by the Zexen knights.
Third, there is Geddoe. A Harmonian mercenary and the leader of his own small group. His main purpose is to find information on rumors and to rule on whether they are true are false. He has a pretty shady past and the members of his team no little more than his first name. There is a contest called that basically states that if any group of mercenaries can come up with hardcore proof of the Flame Champion (a war hero from years ago) is still alive then they'd be paid a large sum of money.
It may not make any sense now, and when I played it, it didn't make any sense. But by the end of the first chapter (all characters have 3 chapters) it'll all come together and you'll be pulled in. I thought the storyline was awesome and brilliantly put together. There are soo many characters in this game with their own personalities and specialties. It's definitely a game that should have been advertised out the ass cuz it's a great game. Geddoe's my favorite!
But Suikoden IV takes place hundreds of years before the events of Suikoden III so I'm curious as to see what on earth this one is about. Perhaps I should consult my GameInformer sometime soon! Be back later with details (hopefully, no later than this Thursday).

[glow=blue,2,300]NP, Del. It actually took me half the summer to buy it. Not cuz I couldn't come up with the money, it's because I didn't want to spend $40 on it used... but the game was calling my name!! So I finally broke down and bought it, and beat it in about three weeks. But I definitely think it was worth it! I hope you enjoy it. I think that's one of the only games that ST and I both have that I actually finished before her. Otherwise, I'm completely helpless. [/glow]
