I have a Dante Figurine that I admire quite often. I love Dante. I haven't finished the games, but I love the character to pieces. He's just so....handsome, dark, and bad ass. *ahem*
Anyway, here is the premise of the game, taken from Gaming Media:
The Devil May Cry series is truly an inspiring one. The original featured Dante, son of the legendary Sparda, in a struggle against the underworld equipped with gun-blazing action, huge monsters, terrifying feats and mad, mad skills. Following a less than stellar sequel and brief cameo appearance in Viewtiful Joe, Dante returns in the highly anticipated Devil May Cry 3. Previously unveiled at Capcom's E3 event, the third instalment is set to deliver an engaging experience above and beyond its predecessor.
The events of Devil May Cry 3 take place prior to the original story. It is revealed that Dante is not the only son of the legendary Sparda. In fact, he shares the same fate of being a half-demon alongside his twin brother, Virgil. As of late, Dante has no knowledge of his demonic abilities or skills inherent in his blood. After a sudden confrontation with Virgil in the agency, the two brothers clash in a heated battle. As the story unfolds, Dante learns of his true destiny as a demon slayer.
There are four unique styles of gameplay: Gunslinger, Sword Master, Trickster and Royal Guard. While the Trickster mode is suited for evasion and running off walls, Sword Master and Gunslinger modes are especially useful for melee attacks and inflicting serious damage to your enemies. In the Gunslinger mode, you can fire two guns at a distance while the Sword Master mode is useful for close-range attacks. Royal Guard is reserved for defence but is yet to be seen in a playable form. In each mission, an onscreen combo meter tracks successful combos with ratings of A, B and S levels. Higher rankings can only be achieved by a chain of different attacks that must be performed instantaneously.
Visually, the game is very polished. Character models and lighting effects boasts a great level of detail in addition to enemies that are downright scary. The environments truly enhance the depth of Dante's encounters with countless monsters and enemy bosses. Much of the scenic grounds are carried over from the first two instalments with a daunting atmosphere.
With sharp visuals, solid gameplay and a killer soundtrack, Devil May Cry 3 is shaping up to be one hell of an experience. Fans of the series should keep watch as Devil May Cry 3 is slated for a winter release early next year.

Looking forward to this game...if ST ever decides to break down and buy it so I can watch. ¬_¬
