Oh, another system I'm excited about... Nintendo Revolution. Once again, a pic: (Click on the thumbnail to make it bigger. I didn't want to put it directly into the thread simply because it'll obliterate the format and possibly blow up your monitor. You'll thank me later.) As for the specs, I'm looking for accurate ones. According to the world wide intraweb, Nintendo didn't want to share the details of the specs just yet at E3 because it's still in it's prototype form, so official specs have yet to be shared. On the other hand, there were rumored specs that I came across. Whether these are accurate or not, I don't know, so don't hate me if they're wrong... hate me for something more serious... like I kicked your dog or something. Oh, and there's also a rumor that Nintendo's working on two consoles, and whichever one turns out better will be the one chosen to be released. So here are the specs so far for the two consoles: Console 1: A 2.7GHz PowerPC G5 processor, 512MBs of RAM, and a 600MHz graphics chip Console 2: Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5 processors. 256MBS of DDR Main Memory RAM, 128MBS of GDDR3 Video RAM and a 500MHz graphics chip. Both systems allegedly featured a built in 15GB hard drive Remember, these are rumors!!

From what I know, Nintendo are not getting involved with the Microsoft/Sony war so they've decided to take a devient route and do something different. Looks promising; it'll be a completely different way to play/enjoy games.

I heard somebody on G4TV refer to Nintendo in a positive light as "still a toy company". Whether that`s good or bad, I don`t know. But I know Nintendo is focused towards children, which is a shame when they hold the Zelda franchise, one that has outgrown, and I think outgrew from the beginning, being an RPG, the title of toy. Yus, Twilight Princess is still aggrivating me =(
I think Nintendo will soon end up as Sega has. I think Gamecube owners will NOT buy the Revolution unless it comes out at a bargain price on it`s day of release. Even then, it`ll be sitting along side a 360 or PS3, but certainly not standing alone. Not in a GC owners house. PS2 and Xbox owners will stick to what they know works well and what they like. They`re uninterested in the GC and know the Revolution won`t stack up against the other next gen consoles. Because it`s a toy, and the others are Gaming Hardware. To summerize, Nintendo fans won`t buy it, neither will anybody else. Except kids. And they probably won`t get it.
I have to give praise to Nintendo for innovation though... the Revolution controller, the DS... not to mention analog sticks on the controller, shoulder buttons and fuck knows what else (I think they`ve changed the face of gaming as far as the actual games more than once without relying on hardware innovations). The DS is the DS - the problem is I think most of Nintendos innovations will be used by Sony and Microsoft soon enough - but on better games.

I totally and utterly disagree. The Revolution is not trying to compete with the big boys. That's pretty damn obvious - Considering that the PS3 will be 15 times more powerful than the Revolution. So by avoiding the tug-of-war that Microsoft and Sony will experience (enjoy, lol) Nintendo will do what it did for the Game Cube, substantially undercut the other two consoles and thus keep their market pool quite large. I'ts really not very uncommon for a Xbox owner to also own a Cube, purely because they are so cheap. To own a PS2 and a box, however, is a different story. I can't say i'm looking forward to the revolution, but there is no doubt that it won't flop. Nintendo always have a few extra cards up their sleeves.

Apart from "but there is no doubt that it won't flop" and "thus keep their market pool quite large", it sounds like you agreed with me totally and utterly. Nobody agrees with these quotes. Not even Miyamoto Ask him. G`head Tell me with all honesty that Nintendo hasn`t become hugely unpopular making unpopular consoles (minus obviously it`s niche, handhelds, which GC and the Revolution are not).

From what I gathered from your previous post, you were predicting that the Revolution was going to flop, and flop with such intensity that it was going to blow a hole in the side of the world 3 kilometres big. Wow. Maybe not, but you get my drift. All I can say, is i've been fairly impressed with how Nintendo has handled the big boys.

Meh. I`d guess you either a) own a gamecube and another console or b) just plain don`t own a gamecube. If a), how many games do you own for it? How many on your other console?
I think the hole in the earth will be 17 kilometers wide, 47.5 kilometers deep and filled with newb-gamer kids whos parents didn`t want to spend too much money and emokids with broken SNESs who still play Street Fighter II, with the total floppage the Revolution will experience. And in this hole in the ground the gaming community and game developers will piss and laugh at Nintendo and it`s stubborn and committed fanboys. ;D

Ahahahahahahaha - Gold, pure, 24 carot, no less. I own no consoles, but I basically live with a dude who owns all three, and has like, a million games a piece, so I do get to play a fair bit. And hey man - I still play Street Fighter II and if you deduce that i'm an emo i'll kill ya Long live the Revolution. /me stabs air with imaginary sword... Of doom... +2...+3 to undead.
