Now, I originally got this idea from posting all over rvb.com.
A friend of mine mentioned in his image gallery that there was a game being made called Chrono: Resurrection. Apparently, a group of Chrono Trigger fans decided they were going to remake the Squaresoft's Chrono Trigger game into 3D.
Unfortunately for them, they did not get the permission of Square to even touch the game. So Square issued a cease and desist order because of copyright infringement.
Some people are outraged by this because they would have enjoyed a remake of the original Chrono Trigger. I am slightly annoyed but understand Square's P.O.V. that they didn't even bother to ask could they remake the game, they just went ahead with production in hopes that Square would go along with it.
What do you all think?
Here are some screens from the recently halted game:
And here's the link to the actual site where a trailer for the game can be found: www.opcoder.com/projects/chrono/

[glow=blue,4,300]Well, luckily enough for the developers, SquareEnix only issued a cease and desist order. So no fines for them.[/glow]

I've seen it happen before. Some guys were tired of waiting for Starcraft 2 to come out and so they made thier own. It looked awesome, but like 3 days before they were going to post it on the net, Blizzard caught them and gave them a cease and desist order.

Wow, I didn't know about that for Starcraft. I want to know why these people have the feeling they can do this? I don't get it. LOL, but they do have a lot of guts to do that though.

People do it because they're obviously huuuuge fans of the series. I always wanted to do a mod of dark sun for dugeon siege. I just love that world.
