Dirge of Cerberus IS FUCKED UP FROM THE START

Game Watch reports that Japanese music star Gackt will provide theme songs for Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerebus and play one of the game's characters. The game goes on sale January 26.

The songs will be the main theme, "Redemption" and an insert song, "Longing," both writen and performed by Gackt. The songs will also go on sale January 26 as a limtied edition package that will include a DVD copy of the musci video for Redemption.

It was not stated what character Gackt will play in the game, other than to say that it is an important character. Gackt not only voices the character, but also provide the character's movements through the use of motion capture technology.

Hmm...not a Gackt fan....and not so much of a Final Fantasy one either anymore (although XII will probably be the last one I ever play)....so I probably won't even be looking out for that one in the time being....

I think it's funny. I've already said I'm not remotely interested in Dirge of Cerberus, but having Gackt in it isn't something that'll make me go leaping headfirst into buying the game. They're putting Gackt in the game because they're totally raping the FFVII name. No one (in Japan at least) is going to buy the game unless they put a Japanese superstar like Gackt in the game.

Gackt has the fascination level of Michael Jackson in his prime without the problem with little boys.

I still find it funny.
