Escaflowne, what do you think of it?
I enjoyed it, both versions the "girl" version (the series) and the "guy" version (the movie). It had a unique story that had that olden-age feel and the characters in it were awesome (*cough* Dilandau). Animation was excellent too, and the plot kept you interested throughout the anime.
Thoughts? Opinions?

The noses.......... they're like.......... a weapon in close combat <_< They could sword fight with those noses Besides that I've only watched the movie, which I liked quite a bit. Never did get around to the series though.

I love Dilandau, in all his borderline sociopathic glory. The story is quite unique, as is the world created for the characters. I must say, I HATE one of the main characters...Hitomi; the biatch needs to carry around some smelling salts as many times as she faints, but she worked well with the other main character, Van, so after a while I could handle her. But excellent series. I think they have the most natural, believable mechs I've seen in an anime. They at least are attached to all of the limbs of the mech, instead of having just a keyboard and a joystick. It goes with the whole medieval feel of the series. Anyway, for those of you who have seen it and know what I'm talking about.... "Burn! BURN BURN!!!!!" God bless the psychos.

[glow=blue,4,300]I shouldn't even post here. ST and Auraki know how much I love Extra Flo-Nase! My fav character was Allen (it must be the hair) and Dilandou. LOL, Hitomi pissed me off in the anime (FoxKids anime) cuz she was so stupid. And Milerna was retarded. And Van was crazy.
Oh, yeah, I also liked Vulcan Stratego too.
Boo to the Giant Talking Head though... he looked like a mummified Santa...
And I like the choir members... in the back singing "Esca... Flowne..." Yay for them![/glow]

I personally cannot get enough of this fantastic Anime. The movie or the series, makes no nevermind to me. Its easy to relate to the Main Chick (Cant member her name.) I mean, great art, great music, semi great acting, whats not to like!
Not to mention the hidden love between everyone in the damn series. The ending KINDA sucked, but eh, Im over that. I cannot pick an anime in which Id rather watch when bored or nostalgic, Except WHR....but thats just me.

Yeah, Escaflowne is a great series. I absolutly love the music, once again Yoko Kano proves that she is the best ever!!! Yhe movie kicks ass and so does the series. But yeah, Hitome needs to kill herself. With the noses, meh, at least they have noses, ever see Argento Soma? Weirdest thing ever!! They didn't have noses!!!! o_0

Everything Yoko Kanno is phenomenal.
And I think movie-Van is so much more badass than series-Van.
Also, I agree, Allen was cool. SOME PEOPLE believe he was a playboy and a child molestor, but I seriously think they got inspiration from Revoluntionary Utena's Touga for his character. Touga was Allen with red hair, but he was just more blatant about how hot he was. He also had the urge to walk around shirtless with his hair blowing in the wind whenever someone could see him. Allen was one step away from that, in my opinion.

You can't keep denying that, auraki. Allen WAS such a perverted Chester. One of the first things he said to Hitomi was "You remind me of my sister." And even if he was ***SPOILER***under a spell when he kissed Hitomi, ***END SPOILER***he still liked her through the whole show, even if he was semi-attached to Millerna. Maybe the reason I didn't like him the most was because everyone (..well all the girls I know that have seen it) loves Allen. Me? He is my number one reason in liking the series: ...Screw Allen.
